Each academic year the University of Utah Department of Theatre produces six mainstage productions (two musicals) and showcases them in an eye-catching season artwork.
For the 2019-2020 season artwork, I had the unique opportunity to use photographs by Todd Collins of the actual cast members in the design of the season artwork. The bold colors, beautiful photography, and hand-drawn digital illustrations make the 2019-2020 season artwork a stunning success. The season’s branding was cohesive, yet provided a unique and distinct identity for each production. The posters become a tangible representation, archive, and keepsake of the department’s productions.
The 2019-2020 U Department of Theatre Season Artwork has received a CASE Circle of Excellence GOLD award. It was also featured in the 2020 Design Arts Utah Exhibition and the 2020 AIGA Salt Lake 100 Show.
